Newton Puts Gun Shops In Crosshairs

The question before the Newton City Council Monday night is whether to allow a proposed ban on gun stores and firearms businesses in Newton. Some have argued a ban "would not withstand" a legal challenge, and that a total ban could result in litigation that has statewide, and potentially national consequences. We speak with Emily Norton, Newton's City Councilor for Ward 2, and Laura Towvim, Co-Founder of the Newton Gun Violence Prevention Collaborative.
