This is the Radio Boston rundown for October 4, 2021. Tiziana Dearing is our host.

  • Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram are all experiencing outages today. The companies have not explained the outages, but they come less than 24 hours after a whistle blower took her identity public on 60 Minutes. Francis Haugen turned over thousands of pages of internal documents to the federal government, claiming they show the company has hidden the damaging effects their algorithms have on everything from global politics, to the Capitol insurrection, to the mental health of teenage girls. We'll talk with Boston Globe Tech Reporter Hiawatha Bray about all of it.
  • Lots of booster and vaccine news over the weekend means a shortened Ask the Docs with Dr. Shira Doron, an infectious disease physician and hospital epidemiologist at Tufts Medical Center.
  • Belichick and Brady faced off last night in front of a packed house at Gillette Stadium. We'll talk about how the two celebrated the reunion, and also touch on whether the Red Sox are a true title contender as they prepare to host the Yankees tomorrow night for the AL Wild Card Game, with Radio Boston's Chris Citorik.
