This is the Radio Boston rundown for Dec. 13. Tiziana Dearing is our host.

  • 2.1-million rapid COVID-19 tests are coming to Massachusetts cities and towns this week, as the Baker administration tries to alleviate a maddening testing scramble. We hear from WBUR's Steve Brown and Michael Curry, the CEO of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers.
  • It seems everywhere you look right now in our economy, there are labor shortages and staffing challenges: not enough snow plow drivers, not enough nurses, not enough police academy recruits. Another place where families are really feeling the pinch — special education classrooms.
  • Did you know "Jingle Bells" is about ... MEDFORD?! We take listener calls on Christmas music favorites, many of which are from around here, with Joe Bennett, professor and musicologist at Berklee School of Music.

This program aired on December 13, 2021.
