With COVID-19 increasing the importance of fast, affordable internet, Massachusetts communities from Pittsfield to Salem are looking into offering internet as a utility.

Meanwhile, Braintree has sold its internet utility after 22 years of service, citing the high cost of maintenance. We talk to Ian Cain, a city councilor in Quincy who has been spearheading the city's effort to build infrastructure to increase internet competition, as well as Bill Bottiggi, general manager of Braintree electric utility.

This segment aired on June 30, 2022.
