More Massachusetts towns are pursuing municipal internet projects

With COVID-19 increasing the importance of fast, affordable internet, Massachusetts communities from Pittsfield to Salem are looking into offering internet as a utility.

Meanwhile, Braintree has sold its internet utility after 22 years of service, citing the high cost of maintenance. We talk to Ian Cain, a city councilor in Quincy who has been spearheading the city's effort to build infrastructure to increase internet competition, as well as Bill Bottiggi, general manager of Braintree electric utility.
