Massachusetts' $52 billion 2023 budget, signed this July, included a provision waiving all monthly court fees for people who are on probation and parole. We talk about what this means for parolees in the commonwealth, and what it's like to get back on your feet after incarceration.
We talk to Irene Li, chef and owner of Mei Mei Dumplings and winner of a James Beard Leadership Award. We've followed her ups and downs throughout the pandemic. With big new plans in the works, she joins us to remind us how it started, and tell us how it's going.
