Roxbury Community College opened 50 years ago. The school was founded to serve students of color and opened through the activism of Black residents after a successful fight to stop a highway from cutting through the middle of the neighborhood.

We look back at the school's history and discuss the challenges Roxbury Community College faces at an existential moment for higher education. Interim President Jackie Jenkins-Scott joins us on Radio Boston.
