Lunar New Year starts Saturday. While people across the globe get ready to ring in the new year, Boston is ramping up its celebrations. This is the first time it will be an official holiday in the city.

Cynthia Woo, director of the Pao Arts Center, and Lillian Lee, a WBUR staff member and a member of NuWa Athletic Club, also known as an all-women lion dance group based in Boston, join Radio Boston to talk about what Lunar New Year means to them.

This segment aired on February 8, 2024.
