How the 2004 Red Sox World Series title changed Boston

13:20

Twenty years ago, after decades of heartbreak, the Red Sox won the World Series over the St. Louis Cardinals and broke the curse. The Sox did it after coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the American League Championship Series, beating their bitter rivals, the New York Yankees.

On Radio Boston, WBUR reporter Steve Brown, former sportswriter for the Boston Globe Bob Ryan and Boston 25 News Reporter Bob Ward join the show to talk about how the title changed the city, the team and Red Sox nation.

This segment aired on October 25, 2024.
