Giving the homeless and other struggling people in Boston opportunities to write and tell their stories is the goal of a local organization called "Writers Without Margins."

It holds writing workshops each week at the St. Francis House day shelter in Boston, and on Thursday, the group hosts its first public poetry reading.

We discussed the group's goals with its founder, Cheryl Buchanan and also spoke with Sara Wilig, one of the poets presenting her work at the reading.

This segment aired on September 22, 2016.
