Republican Gov. Charlie Baker continues to enjoy high marks in the Commonwealth, with one recent poll showing an overall job approval rating of 67%.

One might think the governor's enduring popularity here in deep-blue Massachusetts would be cause for celebration in the state Republican Party, but should Baker decide to run for a third term in 2022, his own party could be his biggest obstacle to reelection.
