Introduction

Hello, Dear Sugars listeners. As you can probably tell from my voice, I am not Cheryl Strayed. I am not Steve Almond, either. My name is Meredith Goldstein. I’m a writer and advice columnist at the Boston Globe, and the host of the Love Letters podcast – where each season we explore one big theme in love and relationships. In the latest season, we’re sharing stories about love… and MONEY – stories of secret debt, the cost of dating, divergent financial values, and more

The team over at Dear Sugars was kind enough to let us share one of those stories with you here today. This is an episode called “Whose Turn Is It?” and it’s all about partnership and compromise. It’s about what it means … to share.

I’ll level with you: There’s always been something about romantic partnership that scares me. How do people combine their lives, their finances… and NOT lose out on things that give them joy? How do people avoid getting resentful?

This episode definitely helped me see things from a different perspective. I hope you like it.
