"Food, We Need To Talk," the new podcast from WBUR, begins episode one with a dilemma: "You're doomed if you diet, doomed if you don't."

That's how 24-year-old co-host Juna Gjata describes it: Restrictive eating has made her miserable her entire adult life, but she’s sure if she stops she’ll "literally gain 20 pounds on gingerbread lattes peppermint mochas."

When she tries to diet, her efforts tend to backfire.

Enter Dr. Eddie Phillips, founder of the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine and a seasoned doctor, who aims to help Juna get to a happier, healthier place with food. Together, they explore solid science, medical wisdom, common sense and plenty of dad jokes — all in pursuit of ending Juna's — and your — "war with food."

If you — or anyone in your life — has ever tried to diet or lose weight, this is the podcast for you.
