Judy Garland's concert at Carnegie Hall is considered one of the greatest shows of all time. The recording of it would stay on the charts for an incredible 94 weeks and would win five Grammys, including best female vocal performance and album of the year. Garland was the first female to win the award for best album.

Listener Jim Thompson of Fort Mill, S.C., alerted us to Harold Williamson, who was 24 years old when he saw Garland perform at Carnegie Hall 50 years ago this month.

This segment aired on April 25, 2011.
