Lyricist Jerry Leiber died on Monday. With his songwriting partner Mike Stoller, Leiber had a string of hit songs during the 1950's and 1960's, including "Hound Dog," "Stand By Me" and "Love Potion No. 9."

In July 2009, Robin Young spoke to the pair about their memoir "Hound Dog: The Leiber and Stoller Autobiography." We rebroadcast an excerpt of that conversation, their memories of one of their first big hits "Hound Dog."

  • Jerry Leiber, songwriter
  • Mike Stoller, songwriter

This segment aired on August 23, 2011.
