Writer Steve Almond Looks At Life In America

Steve Almond has a new short story collection, "God Bless America." It contains 13 stories about life in the United States.

As Steve says, "we got wars going on, we have people who are chasing money and chasing dreams that they're not going to live up to and falling away from their family, and it's a lot of hurting."

But Steve says the title isn't ironic, he deeply appreciates living here — the place that gives him the freedom to write what is important to him.
