In 1997, Peter Bergen produced the first TV interview with Osama Bin Laden. Now in a new film for the National Geographic Channel, Bergen chronicles the end of the Al Qaeda leader's life.

"The Last Days Of Osama Bin Laden" details the daring Navy Seals mission that resulted in Bin Laden's death in Pakistan in May, a mission that was dangerously close to failing. Bergen says "for a man who loved the limelight, Bin Laden died knowing his ideas and his terrorist group had largely faded. He had become what he feared most, irrelevant."

Guest:

  • Peter Bergen, journalist and director of the national security studies program at the New America Foundation

This segment aired on November 4, 2011.
