Olympic Track And Field: Can The Beast Be Tamed?
Play
The action moves into London's Olympic Stadium Friday as the track and field events get underway. One of the marquee events, the men's 100-meter final, is Sunday night and everyone will be watching to see if Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt can repeat his feats in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing against his countryman Yohan Blake.
Men's 100 - Meter Final
Blake beat Bolt in the Jamaican Olympic trials this year and Bolt gave him the nickname "The Beast."
Amby Burfoot of Runner's World says that Blake may now have an edge over world record holder Usain Bolt in the 100-meter final.
Women's Marathon
Burfoot will also be watching the women's Olympic Marathon Saturday.
"The competition is unbelievable," he told Here & Now's Robin Young. "It's the best women's marathon ever assembled. There are seven women in the field who have run under two hours and 20 minutes."
