After a long and divisive campaign, the U.S. presidential election is over. There are no such concerns in China, where the race to be president doesn't involve years of campaigning, negative ads, billions of dollars or a whole lot of voting.

We already know the name of the man who's expected to be the next president, and it will become official during the Communist Party's weeklong conference being held in Beijing.

The man is Xi Jinping. The BBC's Damiam Grammaticas introduces us to him.

This segment aired on November 9, 2012.
