"Deadlocked," the 12th and penultimate book in Charlaine Harris' wildly popular "Sookie Stackouse" series comes out in paperback this month.

We revisited the conversation we had with Harris when the book first came out.

The series is centered around Sookie, a telepathic waitress from Bon Temps, Louisiana, who's caught up in the worlds of vampires, werewolves and fairies.

But as Harris tells Here & Now, her 13th book, which will be published in May, will wrap up the series.

"I began to feel that I had said what I had to say about Sookie and her world and to feel it was time to stop while I was ahead."

However, fans will still be able to get more of Sookie through the HBO series "True Blood," which is based on the books. The show returns for a sixth season this summer.

Guest:

  • Charlaine Harris, bestselling author and creator of the "Sookie Stackhouse" series.

This segment aired on March 4, 2013.
