For decades the words Castro and Cuba have been synonymous. But Fidel is now 86, and sick, and his 81 year old brother Raul says this will be his last term as president.

Castro recently named Miguel Diaz Canel, a man little known off the island, as his new deputy — an indication that Canel is being lined-up as the next leader of Cuba. But besides the fact he's a relatively youthful 52, who is he?
