Michelle Obama was in the middle of a speech about children at a Democratic party fundraiser when a protester started heckling her.

The Washington Post reports the First Lady walked over to the protester and said, "Listen to me, or you can take the mic, but I'm leaving. You all decide. You have one choice."

The protester, Ellen Sturtz, was escorted out and Mrs. Obama continued her speech.

Sturtz told the Post she was taken aback because the First Lady "came right down in my face."

Sturtz is from the group Get Equal, which wants the president to sign an executive order prohibiting federal contractors from discriminating against gay workers.

President Barack Obama was also interrupted by a heckler recently, while giving a major national security speech at the National Defense University last month.

That interruption played out differently.

The heckler, identified as Medea Benjamin, head of the anti-war group Code Pink, interrupted the president multiple times before eventually being escorted out.

Obama picked up his speech by saying that Benjamin’s voice was "worth paying attention to," though he didn't agree with her.
