Amazon Wants To Use Drones To Deliver Faster

Amazon says putting Prime Air into commercial use "will take some number of years as we advance the technology and wait for the necessary FAA rules and regulations." (Amazon)

Package delivery may soon have a futuristic look: Amazon is testing delivery service by flying drones.

The drones would carry packages weighing less than five pounds within a 10 mile radius of distribution centers, and are expected to improve delivery times.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos says the drone system, dubbed "Amazon Prime Air," is years away from being ready for commercial use.
