An Oregon Gay Couple's Race to Marry

Eric Marcoux and Eugene Woodworth lived in Oregon but got married in Washington recently, where same-sex marriage is legal. Woodworth was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and given just weeks to live.
The couple, who had been together for more than 60 years, hoped Marcoux would receive Eugene's social security benefits as the surviving spouse.
Woodworth died a week after they were married.
