Los Angeles To Restrict E-Cigarette Use

Los Angeles will soon join a growing list of cities restricting the use of electronic cigarettes. The city council voted this week to ban the use of e-cigarettes from bars, restaurants and public parks. Mayor Eric Garcetti has said he would sign the measure into law.

Here & Now's Robin Young speaks to Brian King, senior adviser to the Office on Smoking and Health at the Centers for Disease Control, about what's known about the health effects of e-cigarettes. She then turns to Emily McDonald, a researcher at University of California, San Francisco, who is studying e-cigarette use among young people.
