Syria's Civil War Rages On

Fighting in Syria continues, with more than 160,000 people killed since it started as a peaceful protest against Syrian President Bashar Assad in 2011.

Aleppo is one of Syria's most contested and devastated cities. Since 2012, when rebels seized the east of the city, the Assad government has maintained control of the west.

Aleppo has only recently become accessible to journalists, and the BBC’s Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen traveled there. He has this report.
