In the ongoing fight between Amazon.com and book publisher Hachette over e-book prices and who gets what share of the revenue, Amazon has thrown in a new twist. It's offering Hachette authors all of the revenue from their e-book sales for as long as the dispute lasts.

Amazon says it would also stop making it difficult customers to order books by Hachette authors quickly and easily.

Hachette says Amazon is trying to get it to "commit suicide." Authors, meanwhile, are caught in the middle, and they're reacting differently to Amazon's proposal.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson talks to best-selling author Scott Turow, who is against the proposal, and independent author Valerie Douglas, who thinks it's reasonable.
