Freed Hostage 'Overwhelmed With Emotion' By Efforts To Free Him
ResumePeter Theo Curtis, the American who was freed this week after being held for almost two years in Syria by an Islamic separatist group, briefly spoke to reporters today. He thanked everyone involved in the efforts to free him and asked for some time to bond with his family.
Curtis said he was surprised to learn that hundreds of people were involved in efforts to free him. Clint Van Zant is a former FBI agent who runs the threat assessment group Van Zandt Associates. He tells Here & Now's Robin Young about who some of those involved in the mediation were, and what we know about the details of the negotiation.
