The late songwriter Jesse Winchester's last album is being released today.

"You can't talk about the best songwriters and not include him," Bob Dylan once said about Winchester.

Dylan wasn't alone in his admiration for the singer-songwriter.

When Jesse Winchester died earlier this year at the age of 69, the tributes from his peers poured in.

One of the tributes came from his friend Jimmy Buffett, who wrote the liner notes for Winchester's final CD, "A Reasonable Amount Of Trouble."

Buffett described Winchester's songs as "simple songs that went right into your heart, not necessarily your ears."

Buffett said Winchester had a natural ability to perform on stage.

“He just did what he did so eloquently and so well," Buffett told  Here & Now's Robin Young. "[Audiences] were incredibly moved by the whole thing.”

The new record is bittersweet.

“It’s kind of hard to listen to," Buffet said, "knowing that this was the swansong. But I’m happy we were able to do it.”
