For thousands of years, people have had an image of what life with leprosy is like.

The disease hasn’t changed, and yet, little is known about it.

Leprosy — or Hansen’s Disease — still affects about 2 million people in the world, in places like Brazil, Angola and India.

In the U.S., Texas has the second most reported cases of leprosy (California is first).
