According to several recent Pew Research studies, the younger you are, the less patriotic you are, and the less likely you are to think that the U.S. is the best country in the world.

Just 32 percent of millennials say the U.S. stands above all other nations, compared to 64 percent of their grandparents’ generation.

Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson speaks with Atlantic senior editor (and millennial) Derek Thompson about what’s behind the statistics, and why the feeling of American exceptionalism is in decline.
