Vermont Debates Adopting Latin Motto
ResumeVermont lawmakers are deciding whether to adopt what many other states already have: a Latin motto.
The state already has a motto in English, "Freedom and Unity," but a 15-year-old Latin scholar has been lobbying for an additional phrase, which she found on an old coin.
