The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is reporting that last month was the second-warmest January on record across the globe. But today, new records are being set - record lows.

The Siberian Express has arrived and brought frigid temperatures along with it. Winds from Russia have traveled across the North Pole, sending temperatures to record lows.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with Jeff Masters, director of meteorology at Weather Underground, about the cold temperatures being felt from New England to the Deep South.
