Rupert Murdoch is preparing to step down as CEO of the media giant 21st Century Fox, and he will pass the baton to his son James Murdoch.

The younger Murdoch's reputation was dragged through the mud three years ago during a phone hacking scandal in the U.K. that embroiled the company. He left London, in a move that now looks like a strategic attempt to try to move on from the scandal and rebuild his image.
