Animated Film Tells The Texas Tower Shooting Story
For more than 50 years now, people have been struggling to tell the story of the first public mass shooting on a college campus.
In August 1966, Charles Whitman, a student at the University of Texas in Austin, killed 17 people and wounded 30 others. Most of his victims were shot from Whitman's perch on top of a 27-story tower on campus.
Now, as Laura Rice from Here & Now contributor Texas Standard reports, an Austin-based filmmaker has found a new way to tell the story through an animated documentary.
