Rep. Rashida Tlaib is cancelling her trip to Israel after the country said she is allowed to see her grandmother in the West Bank on a humanitarian visit.

Earlier this week, the Israeli government barred Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar from visiting the country on a fact-finding mission, bowing to pressure from President Trump, who said Israel allowing the Congresswomen — both Democrats and Muslims critical of Trump — would show great weakness.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson talks with Neri Zilber (@NeriZilber), journalist, analyst and an adjunct fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

This segment aired on August 16, 2019.
