Retired Admiral Offers Perspective On Navy Controversy
PlayThomas Modly, acting secretary of the U.S. Navy, resigned Tuesday amid uproar over his handling of a coronavirus outbreak on an aircraft carrier. He fired the USS Theodore Roosevelt's captain after he pleaded for help in a letter leaked to media.
Modly apologized Monday after it emerged that he had called Captain Brett Crozier's actions "naive" and "stupid."
