As the weather gets warmer and coronavirus restrictions are loosened across the country, exercise enthusiasts are looking forward to getting outdoors.

But after reports of COVID-19 spread during outdoor group activities like barbecues, graduation celebrations and pool parties, many are wondering whether they can rejoin their friends and teammates for group rides and runs.

Host Robin Young talks to Dr. Richard Novak, head of infectious disease at the University of Illinois at Chicago, about the few studies that exist on the topic, and what is and isn't likely to be safe.

This segment aired on June 16, 2020.
