The European Commission Monday approved a $3.85 billion bailout that the Dutch government promised to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines — the latest in a series of dire signs for the airline industry after United announced last week that it could layoff as many as 36,000 people.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with Ray LaHood, former secretary of transportation from 2009 to 2013 under President Obama, about how the pandemic is changing transportation of all types, from flying to public transit.
