Public preschool programs, like Head Start and pre-K, are known to help close the achievement gap between low and high-income kids. Cities and states around the country have been expanding these programs in recent years with the goal to provide access for all 4-year-olds.
But the pandemic closing public schools and pre-school programs could set many children back. Here & Now's Tonya Mosley talks with Eboni Howard, an early education researcher at the American Institutes for Research.
