In states like Pennsylvania, Virginia and Kentucky, early voting has already surpassed 2016 numbers as voters shift their behavior to contend with the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite the fact that some election officials say they can't keep up with the surge, some states are unwilling to give them more time to count the ballots as they roll in. Host Tonya Mosley talks with NPR's Miles Parks.

This segment aired on October 14, 2020.
