Everett, Washington, is best known as home to Boeing's giant aircraft manufacturing plant. For decades, the facility provided jobs and a comfortable life for many of the town's residents.

Reporter Surya Hendry's story is part of a collaboration between YR Media and WNYC's Radio Rookies called 18-to-29 Now: Young America Speaks Up.

This segment aired on October 19, 2020.
