Uber And Lyft Lose Appeal In Driver Classification Case
PlayUber and Lyft lost their appeal in California court Thursday night against an order that requires them to stop classifying their drivers as independent contractors.
The ride-sharing companies argue they would have to suspend operations in California if they are forced to classify their drivers as employees. The court ruling comes on the heels of an upcoming ballot measure that asks California voters to decide.
