Here & Now's Tonya Mosley speaks with George Thomas, a political science professor at Claremont McKenna College, about the argument some are making on the right that the U.S. is not a democracy, but rather the republic.

We get to the bottom of what is true, and Thomas tells us this is historically an argument made by white people when they're no longer the political majority.
