The Trump administration plans to carry out five federal executions before President Trump leaves office in January, adding up to 13 federal executions since July. There had not been any federal executions for 17 years before they resumed over the summer.

Here & Now's Tonya Mosley speaks with Cassandra Stubbs, director of the American Civil Liberties Union Capital Punishment Project, about the Trump administration's decision to proceed with these executions during a pandemic and a presidential transition.
