Fighting Wildfires 8 Years After Devastating Yarnell Hill Wildfire

Next week will mark eight years since a team of 19 firefighters part of a group known as the Granite Mountain Hotshots lost their lives battling the Yarnell Hill wildfire in Arizona.

It remains one of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history. And on top of the scars of that tragedy,  Arizona and much of the West is in the midst of yet another wildfire season.

Here & Now's Peter O'Dowd speaks with Fernanda Santos, a contributing columnist for the Washington Post and author of the book "The Fire Line: The Story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots."
