Toni Morrison's hometown of Lorain, Ohio, is celebrating the renowned author Friday on what would have been her 91st birthday.

Her novels exploring themes of race, sex, identity and violence have often been targets of book bans over the years and are part of current efforts spreading across the country.

Host Peter O'Dowd has more with Lorain Historical Society's executive director Barb Piscopo.
