School librarians have tough jobs. And in 2021, an unprecedented number of attempts to ban books made it even tougher, according to the American Library Association.

Most of these targeted books were by or about Black or LGBTQ people.

Host Anthony Brooks speaks with Jennisen Lucas, the district librarian for public schools in Cody, Wyoming, and president of the American Association of School Librarians.

This segment aired on April 11, 2022.
