Why the National Park Service demolished two homes in North Carolina's Outer Banks

Coastal communities in many parts of the U.S. are trying to adapt as climate change and sea level rise increasingly threaten oceanfront homes.

In one North Carolina Outer Banks community, a unique program allows the National Park Service to buy up those properties and demolish them before they fall into the water.
