State Department working 'around the clock' to secure U.S. doctors' exit from Gaza

Here & Now's Peter O'Dowd speaks with Vedant Patel, principal deputy spokesperson at the State Department, about the new humanitarian pier in the Mediterranean and conditions for American doctors trapped in Gaza.

Editor's note: After the segment aired, the State Department offered this updated statement: “Some of the U.S. citizen doctors who had been stuck in Gaza have now safely departed and made their way to safety with assistance from the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. We have been in close contact with the groups that these U.S. doctors are part of, and we have been in contact with the families of these U.S. citizens.”
