We revisit host Deepa Fernandes' March 2023 conversation with labor organizer Saket Soni. His acclaimed book "The Great Escape: A True Story of Forced Labor and Immigrant Dreams in America" tells the story of how he aided workers who had been lured to the U.S. by the promise of green cards only to be forced into indentured servitude working on repairing oil rigs damaged by hurricane Katrina.
